Working as a junior creative (freelance) in a Sydney agency I helped concept a range of print ads (my ideas), which also included a suite of radio ads. This is my second piece of creative work to ever be approved and delivered, however it was not my first.
My first ever approved creative work was actually a sex ad for a local prostitute in Sydney.
Trying to kickstart a career as a creative, I used my foot-in-the-door role at a News Corp (Murdoch) publishing house, where I sold ad space for both Used Cars and Adult Services, to help a local lady craft a three-line ad before print deadline. Long story short, she worked that weekend. I tell this story because I feel that it taught me a lot about how creatives can help people and brands; I have never seen myself as a precious creative, so whether it's conceptual campaigns, brand work, SEO copy to drive Google rankings, or three-line ads in the back of the publication – I am always happy to apply to my skills.
